Background
The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) convened the 100 Million Healthier Lives initiative (2014–2020), funded in part by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, with the audacious goal of helping 100 million people worldwide live healthier lives. Using a unique approach to cross-sector collaboration, hundreds of partners worked together in the 100 Million Healthier Lives initiative to creatively address the social determinants of health and well-being and build capability and capacity by partnering with people with lived experience of inequity to co-design, co-implement, and co-evaluate change.
