CPCHE Certificants

Individuals who attain the CPCHE credential represent a group of committed professionals from across health care who are determined to advance the healthy equity field.

The Certified Professional in Clinical Health Equity (CPCHE)™ credential distinguishes health care professionals who meet the competency requirements in the areas of clinical health equity, and who demonstrate the ability to apply this knowledge to effectively plan and implement health equity initiatives. Candidates may include health equity professionals, clinicians, non-clinical health care workers, executives, and other professionals with the requisite background. These professionals may work in a variety of settings, including but not limited to, hospitals, health systems, the home, ambulatory and other outpatient settings, academia, the community, and providers of service to the health care industry. The CPCHE is open to candidates from the United States as well as practitioners outside of the US.

Those attaining the CPCHE designation represent a group of committed professionals from across health care who are determined to advance the patient safety field. Since the launch of the certification in 2025, more than 100 health equity professionals have earned the CPCHE credential, representing 16 US states and 6 other countries. Advancing safer care for all requires a commitment to spreading health equity expertise across demographics and disciplines.

Congratulations to all candidates who have passed the Certified Professional in Clinical Health Equity (CPCHE) examination to date. The Certified Professional in Clinical Health Equity credential attests to your professional competency in health equity science and application. The credential is valid for three years, after which time CPCHE Recertification is required.

Please note: All new CPCHE certificants will be listed during the month following your exam pass date. Certificants may opt out of public listing by request, but their status may still be verified by contacting the certification office (certification@ihi.org).
